Conception Bay Auto & Tire Centre Ltd.supports the tire manufactures’ warranties for all of the tire brands that we sell. These warranties relate to tires that become unusable/unsafe for any reason within the manufactures control, such as craftsmanship and materials.

Properly maintained tires can generally withstand normal day to day driving without incident, but it only takes one significant road hazard to leave you with a tire in need of repair or replacement. A manufacture warranty would not cover events such as potholes, nails, glass, cuts, and impact breaks (broken belts), etc. but a Road Hazard Insurance Program would.

Road hazards can include any number of unexpected and often unavoidable road conditions or obstacles such as road debris, and poorly maintained roads. If any of these situations occur and you have purchased our Road Hazard Insurance Program, then you will qualify for certain coverage pending on the type of damage incurred.

Conception Bay Auto & Tire Centre Ltd.can not warrant that a tire will not fail from a road hazard. This program helps with the costs associated with repair or replacement of your tires.

Conception Bay Auto & Tire Centre Ltd.has introduced a Road Hazard Insurance Program (RHIP) to better suit your needs for daily driving. This program is available on almost all tires that we sell at varying costs depending on its initial retail cost. Rates are as follows.

Pricing is based off the retail of tire before applicable taxes.

Tire Retail-$119.99 or less

• -RHIP cost-$8.95/tire

Tire Retail-$120.00-$199.99

• -RHIP cost-$11.95/tire

Tire Retail-$200.00-$299.99

• -RHIP cost-$14.95/tire

Tire Retail-$300+

• -RHIP cost-8% surcharge/tire

Tires not available under this program;

• -Competition/Track use
• -Off Road/Mud Tires
• -Trailer/Flotation/Tractor Tires
• -Use on police or other emergency vehicles
• -Use on commercial vehicles for farming, construction, taxi service, or for hire
• -Program is honoured for 48 months from date of purchase
• -Must be purchased on all tires at time of installation

Where you can obtain service; the Road Hazard Program offered by Conception Bay Auto & Tire Centre Ltd. (herein referred to as the Dealer) is only valid at this service location. It will not honour or reimburse any invoice from another service location. If a problem arises, please return to the original place of purchase.

Tire repair or replacement; If an eligible tire is damaged within the program period, it will be inspected and either repaired or replaced based from safety guidelines set by the Tire and Rubber Association of Canada. If a tire can not be safely repaired as per industry guidelines in the opinion of the Dealer, it will be replaced on a pro-rated basis calculated from treadwear.

• -A tire that can be repaired will be done so at no charge to the consumer.
• -A tire that can not be safely repaired will be replaced. If the same tire is not available, the Dealer will replace with a tire of comparable quality and tread design at its own discretion.

How treadwear is calculated; tread wear is calculated based on “usable tread” which is the current tread depth less 2/32” (wear bars/treadwear indicators). Charge is determined by multiplying the ratio of useable tread to the original tread depth by the current retail price.

• -Example; Assume a tire retails for $100.00 and the damaged tire had an original tread depth of 10/32” and at the time of damage inspection has a tread depth of 6/32” (i.e. 50% of original tread remaining), then the replacement tire would cost $100.00 multiplied by 50% for a total of $50.00+ mounting/balancing and all applicable taxes.

Inflate, Rotate, Evaluate; To maintain yourRoad Hazard Insurance Program, you are required to properly maintain your tires, this includes but is not limited to;

• -Tire inflation, be sure to check you tire pressure at least once every 30 days while cold. Do not check/adjust pressure while tires are hot or after a long drive. Correct Pressure can usually be found on the drivers door jamb placard. It can also be found in the vehicles owners manual.
• -Rotate, It is important to keep your tires rotated regularly to avoid uneven wear. Most tire manufactures recommend between 6-8000kms. Please keep receipts with recorded mileage to keep program intact.
• -Evaluate, Inspect your tires periodically looking and feeling for any uneven wear, or inconsistent wear patterns. This type of wear is usually caused from misalignment or suspension issues.

What is not covered under this program

• -Failure or damage, including rapid and irregular tread wear caused directly or indirectly by; Fire, Accident/Collision, Vandalism, Theft, Brake Lock, Spinning, Over/Under Inflation, Alignment, Tire Rotation, Misapplication, Improper Mounting/Dismounting, Snow Chains, Mechanical Suspension/Steering Issue, Bent/Damage Rims.
• -Tires used on Commercial Vehicle, Trailers, Campers, Taxis, Limos, Courier Service Ect.
• -Cost of tire studding
• -Claims not made by the original purchaser
• -Installed on Vehicle other than original Sale
• -Tires without D.O.T. Code
• -Tire with Tread depth less than 2/32”
• -Tires that have been Retreaded or Regrooved.
• -Loss of time, Inconvenience, Loss off Vehicle or Subsequential Damage.
• -Shipping Cost on out of stock items.
